The popular quote above, made by the English playwright, John Heywood, brings to fore, the indisputable fact that time and patience is needed to create anything worthwhile and sustainable. History tells us that early Rome was just a conglomeration of a few hamlets, before growing into a city state (sovereign state comprising a city and its dependent territories), and eventually the renowned vast ‘Roman Empire’. Rome achieved this grandeur as a result of centuries of ceaseless energy and tireless effort devoted by her people under astute leadership of the successive leaders and later Emperors. In picturing the empire that they eventually wanted, Romans did not forget that they would have to tirelessly lay each brick continuously over decades together.
