Presenter Value

The art of providing value as a presenter is a crucial aspect of engaging and retaining an audience. In today’s digital age, where attention spans are shorter than ever, it is essential for thought leaders, influencers, and presenters to offer unique value to their followers. This piece explores the importance of providing value, the qualities that make a presenter enjoyable to watch or listen to, and three thought leaders who exemplify these qualities.

With nearly two decades of experience as a presenter and producer on multiple media platforms, suffice it to say that providing value is important because it sets a presenter apart from others and makes their content worthwhile. When a presenter offers valuable insights, information, or entertainment, they build trust and credibility with their audience. This, in turn, fosters loyalty and encourages followers to share the content with others, ultimately increasing the presenter’s reach and influence. Moreover, providing value helps a presenter stand out in a crowded market, where attention is a scarce resource.

When it comes to the values I look for in presenters I enjoy watching or listening to, authenticity, passion, and expertise are at the top of my list. I appreciate presenters who are genuine, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable about their subject matter. They make the content more relatable, engaging, and informative, which keeps me coming back for more.

Three thought leaders I follow are a social media personality, a marketing expert and entrepreneur, and thirdly, a research professor and popular author. I follow the social media personality on YouTube, where she shares uplifting and humorous content that focuses on joy and self-care. Her authenticity and positive energy are contagious and always leave me feeling inspired. I follow the marketing expert on YouTube and Instagram, where he shares valuable insights on marketing, business, and personal growth. His passion and expertise in his field are unmatched, and his content is always informative and engaging. I follow the research professor and popular author on YouTube and Facebook, where he shares thought-provoking talks and lectures on topics such as vulnerability, shame, and empathy. His research-based approach and storytelling ability make his content both informative and entertaining.

I follow these individuals because they provide value to my life in different ways. While one presenter’s content helps me to focus on the positive aspects of life and prioritize self-care, another’s content inspires me to take action and pursue my passions with purpose. The third presenter’s content challenges me to think critically about my values and behaviours, and to cultivate empathy and compassion towards others. These individuals provide value by offering unique perspectives, insights, and advice that help me to grow both personally and professionally.

Three things I learned from these thought leaders that I get to apply to my speech or presentation are the importance of authenticity, the power of storytelling, and the need to focus on providing value to the audience. To ensure I provide value when I present, I make sure to be genuine and passionate about my topic, use engaging storytelling techniques to convey my message and prioritize the needs and interests of my audience above my own. By doing so, I am able to build trust and credibility with my audience and create a lasting impact that resonates long after the presentation is over.

In conclusion, providing value is essential for presenters who want to engage and retain their audience. By offering unique insights, information, or entertainment, presenters can build trust and credibility with their followers, foster loyalty, and increase their reach and influence. As a presenter, it is crucial to prioritize the needs and interests of the audience and to focus on providing value that resonates with them. By doing so, we can create a lasting impact that inspires, educates, and entertains our audience.
